“Hundred Birds’ Dress”
In ancient times there lived the feather men tribe. The ancestor of Zhuang ethnic group Buluotuo, commanded drum-maker Guka to paint the sculpture of the Zhuang bronze drum which was a symbol of the Zhuang people’s happy life on the cliff of the Flower mountain. He wanted these symbols to last as long as the mountains and rivers. They would be symbolic and become a reminder for the present people and a revelation for the descendants.
Guka met a girl called Yili who was transformed from a sunbird. They fell in love and talked intimately to each other.
Guka, together with his fellow men, climbed up the cliff of the flower mountain to paint. However, they met with insurmountable troubles as the cliff was too steep. Yili was worried about Guka so she called up hundreds of birds who donated their colourful feathers and knitted them into a dress. Guka wore this dress made by the birds. He could fly freely over the cliff to paint. Finally, the amazing Flower Mountain Fresco was born. However, the soul of the lovely Yili had to return to the Sun.
